Cheryl Kernaghan
Welcome to my online gallery of paintings and prints. I live in Paris, Ontario in the heart of the Grand River Valley where most of my inspiration comes from. My work celebrates nature and the human connection to the land. So much of the history of the land and the people who have come before us is held in the landscape. Agricultural lands created by the clearing of trees, century old barns and houses, trail marker trees and Oak Savannas left by Indigenous people, all connect us to the past.
Since 1991 egg tempera has been my preferred medium. The small brush strokes and the mixing of quaility ingredients I use with this ancient medium constantly challenge me to find an imaginative balance between craftsmanship and expression. I hope you enjoy touring my online gallery.
